A Prayer For Parents
A Prayer For Parents
A “Family By The Book” blog
Father, don’t let them parent for the moment …
but for the future.
Don’t let them parent for the ‘cuteness’ now …
but for the character later.
Don’t allow them to parent conveniently …
but to parent consistently.
Don’t allow them to parent out of the playbook of this culture …
but out of the eternal template of God’s heart.
Don’t let them punish for past transgressions …
as much as discipline with an eye on the future.
Don’t ever allow them to take the easy road …
but to always take the high road, that leads to success and satisfaction later.
Don’t ever let them have to fight to get their kids back from the enemy …
but to work hard to keep them under God’s blessing and with His arms.
Give these parents the stamina and self-discipline it takes to produce sons and daughters who are:
- submitted to the leadership of both their parents and God
- conscious of God’s approval and plan for them
- loved and nurtured like few others have ever been
- and ready to move into their own places of ministry in God’s great kingdom
We ask these things in the name of Him who loves us more than anyone else … in Jesus name. Amen
