Fresh Heart For Your Prayer Life August 2018

Whatever will be will be? Hardly the way to pray!

“Be merciful to me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.” Psalm 86:3 KJV

Often we let grace cover our inconsistency in prayer. We assume a “Que sera, sera/What will be, will be” attitude instead of regularly praying as if something happens when we pray that will not happen if we do not pray.

But in all fairness, if we like the side of the coin that says “Prayer changes things” then we must also turn the coin over to read “So if I don’t pray, things that could change may not change.”

Ponder: What would you personally need to do to make prayer a regular part of each day? Is there another person with whom you could pray, either in person or on the phone? Would participation with someone else help you be more consistent?

This is the fourth short blog on prayer I’ve published and I thought some of you might also like to receive this monthly addition to your weekly Fresh Heart For A New Week you are now getting. Just a minute to read and food for thought all day. If you’d like to be included, respond to this with “Yes to prayer” and you’ll be added.
