One Piece Isn’t Enough

puzzle pieces

You can’t see the whole picture with only one piece of the puzzle.

One solitary piece of a 500 piece puzzle does not a picture make!

What piece of your puzzle are you puzzling over? Does it make sense to you? Can you see where it fits into the whole? Even with the picture on the cover it’s difficult if not impossible to see where and how it fits exactly.

And we don’t have the benefit of looking at the cover as we process seemingly meaningless pieces. We only have the assurance that all the pieces will count eventually. (“And we knowthat all things (all of the pieces) work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 KJV

Three important things come out of this verse. First, we must know/have confidence that all the pieces work into something truly good. Second, we must see all the pieces as having value. And third, their value is based upon God’s purpose for our lives.

What about that troubling piece of your doctor’s concern over a recent test? How about that teenage son who is fighting your leadership? What about the perfect house deal that fell apart just before closing?

Are those workable pieces?

Only if God is truly God and you believe that He has control over all of your life … all of the pieces. Then you can handle a piece … look at its colors … evaluate how you feel about it and finally give it back to God to work into the masterpiece He is certainly creating.

How can you doubt his skill at handling pieces when you consider the works of his hand and heart in the Grand Canyon? The Adirondacks? The sunset over your favorite beach?

How then can we be fearful when we note God’s constant creative genius on display all around us? And how can we doubt when surrounded by so many stories of God’s grace being worked out in impossible situations?

It’s time to believe.

No more endless questioning. No more calling God’s credentials into question. Take the pieces you’ve been given and turn them over to the One who has seen the box cover, (for He created the picture) and likes what He sees!

“But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”

 Job 23:10 KJV
