It’s Coming!!!

Feel afraid? It may be time to put on your armor. Don’t fear… this is our hour as believers. God’s got this whole thing!

“The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:

“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ,

and he will reign for ever and ever.” Revelation 11:14 NIV

We live in the transitional zone between ‘the kingdom of the world’ and the ‘has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ.’ The reigning over this incredulous kingdom will be Christ’s great honor and our exquisite delight. We will live in eternal astonishment and grateful wonder at what God’s plan has brought forth.

But make no mistake. We’re not there yet.

This is ‘no man’s land’… the tectonic-shifting, temporary, yet terrifying world of great change. What ‘is’ is ‘becoming’ and everyone of us who claim Jesus as our King are to play a serious part in the transition.

The King we serve has served notice on the current administration that He’s taking over. It isn’t to be by popular vote … no caucuses will be held … political expedience will never fuel this campaign.

The only ‘primary’ that matters is the one held the day the King died, and by his resurrection from the dead showed Satan that he wasn’t going to win. The outcome was assured. There would be a change of power. The old is coming down and the new King will reign for ever and ever. There will never again be a regime change. All challengers and challenges will be gone for good.

And our part in all this? According to Matthew 11:12 “ … from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.” NIV  So the violence of the cross continues in those of us who came into this Kingdom through the cross’s power. By our obedience and steady commitment … when obeying comes hard and staying the course is tremendously difficult … we continue to move more and more of the kingdom of this world into and under the jurisdiction of our King.

“Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven!” Matthew 6:10 KJV

Note: this devotional is a repeat of one written some years ago. It just seems to fit the challenge we need in the 2020s! Be blessed and be ready!
