Don’t Fear What’s Behind You

There’s far more than scary things behind you. God has your back and He comes with two companions!

Don’t look now, but there’s danger behind you!

It’s easy to feel like a runaway semi is in back of you and just about to close the distance and squash you! We are being ganged up on; there’s no doubt about that.

There’s the rancid, hot breath of government stupidity behind us, threatening to swamp us with unfair rules, insane policy issues and the ineptitude being modeled by leaders is only exceeded by their hatred for God, His rules and the people who follow them.

Another threat sneaking up on us is the possibility of insolvency and bankruptcy due to today’s upside-down economics. We are presently paying more for less in most monetary endeavors in our lives. We attempt to keep our eyes and emotions facing forward, but the distraction is playing games with our intentions.

And by the way, our safety is under assault as well. Anyone over 40 can easily remember friendlier times… when people wanted to visit instead of victimize! They wanted to socialize, not shoot you.

Wow… what’s back there is frightening and it’s real. God even warned us that difficult days would signify end times. But He didn’t just innumerate the calamities and atrocities coming, He gave us good news as well.

Here is what He is saying:

Isaiah 41:10: Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Psalm 9:9-10: The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.

John 16:33: “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Philippians 4:6-7: Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Pay attention to what is before you because God’s got your back and He has two companions!

“Surely your goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”

Psalm 23:6 KJV
