Why choose to follow God? There are many reasons.

For all those who have chosen God over every lesser god, there are many powerful reasons they have done so. Consider:

We don’t need a god who is indifferent to us …

We need a God who really cares for us.

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

1 Peter 5:7 NLT 

We don’t need a god who ignores or simply puts up with us …

We need a God who radically loves us.

“You, Lord, are forgiving and good,

abounding in love to all who call to you.” Psalm 86:5 NIV

We don’t need a god who abandons us …

We need a God who won’t let go of us.

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.  I give them

eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

John 10:27-28 (NIV)

We don’t need a god who runs a drive through …

We need a God who comes out of the kitchen to eat with us.

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door,

I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” Revelation 3:20 NLT

We don’t need a god who overlooks our loneliness …

We need a God who gives us a family.

“See what an incredible quality of love the Father has shown to us, that we would

[be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God!

And so we are!” I John 3:1 Amplified Bible

 We don’t need a god who overlooks our sin and failures …

We need a God who forgives them.

“Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought

of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them.

Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.” Isaiah 55:7 NLT
