Do you believe you can pray   continually?

“…pray continually.”  I Thessalonians 5:17 NIV

 When we see this admonition we tend to think about really ‘spiritual’ people … the kind who are so heavenly minded that they are no earthly good … the type of people who walk into walls with their eyes turned heavenward.

It seems that this call to incessant prayer is beyond almost everyone. But is it? Could it be that we are being challenged to keep up a running dialog with the Father throughout our day … one that covers the gamut of our living. Can we develop such a closeness with Him that we find it easy to simply chat with Him as we would with a close friend? Praying without ceasing is the knowledge that we are surrounded by God’s presence and that He takes an interest in every facet of our lives.

Ponder: Do you feel awkward about sharing everything with God? How do you intend to get over the false idea that God is only interested in the crisis of our lives?
