It’s the most amazing thing… to come into the presence of Almighty God and be welcomed as a son or daughter!

“This then is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name …’”  Matthew 6:9 NIV

 The title of Father is an open invitation to a relationship. It’s not just coming into the presence of the most Omnipotent, all-wise God … it’s coming into the presence of our Father. What an honor to be given permission to address Him in that capacity. We must never take that for granted.

In prayer we become conscious of who He really is … of all that his name and character imply. We worship his majesty, stand in awe of his power, knowledge, justice and mercy. And yet, in spite of those qualities, we are invited to come close.

Ponder: Could you feel as comfortable in the presence of the President of the United States as you do in God’s presence? What does God do or say to us to put us at ease? Is it possible to take advantage of God’s open arms? In what ways might we do this?
