Can He? Will He?

We have a Savior who is within reach when we are sick in body or sick in our hearts. Ask Him to help you.

When Malachi put the period after the last chapter and verse of his Minor Prophet book in the Old Testament, God went quiet for about 400 years. What would He have to say when He appeared in person through his Son, the Messiah?

When Jesus opened the pages of his earthly ministry, his was a ministry of seeking, saving and meeting needs wherever He went. “What would you like me to do for you?” He would ask. He comforted the weak and disoriented. He raised the hopes of those who had lost all they had.

Jesus healed all who were brought to Him (Matthew 8:16). Matthew 14:14 says that “He had compassion for them and healed them.” They got close enough to Him to “just touch the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were cured.” (Matthew 14:36)

There are far more Scriptures assuring us that Jesus met the needs of all who approached Him. He is a marvelous, multi-need-meeting Savior! By his own admission, his ministry met more than physical healings:

“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He

has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery

of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”

Luke 4:16-19 NKJV

 I love any story of Jesus rescuing hurting people. If you are suffering at this moment with any physical or emotional burden that is too much for you to ‘labor on’ carrying, I have two questions for you before my challenge:

  • If Jesus could heal then, can He still heal today?
  • If He wanted to do it then, does He still want to today?

If those questions force you into an area of theology that you are not familiar with, let me help you here. Below is a verse that will answer those two questions, and give you the faith to reach out to Jesus and expect that He will heal your sickness, comfort your fast-beating heart and give you the answers to life that you desperately need.

“Jesus Christ is [eternally changeless, always] the same yesterday

and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 AMP

 You don’t walk through life alone… just ask Him for his healing help.
