Keep Being Useful
How much good are you to God as a citizen of heaven? Does God trust you fully? Is your commitment in tact?
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work
within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished
on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Philippians 1:6 NLT
Do you have any idea of when God began ‘the good work’ in you? Can you conceive of the ‘starting place’ of his plans for your life? You say, “At my birth?” No, a bit before that. “When I was conceived in my mother’s womb?” You’re getting closer. Note God’s words to his prophet Jeremiah: “Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you:: MSG
That means God already had his life’s assignment for you before you took your first breath and heard the words of family and friends telling you how beautiful you were! Now, how are we to find God’s plan for us? Actually, in many ways they’ve been with you since you began in the womb. God fine-tuned your personal DNA… put the right disposition into your growing body and mind and emotions.
He knew your limitations as well as your full and powerful potentials. He gave you specific tools to fulfill your destiny. You were equipped for radical encounters with any and all opportunities you will encounter. That’s why the Apostle Paul said that the way you begin with your gifts and with your future secured, you need to keep operating until his work in and through your life is finally and fully completed.
Don’t you dare take God’s blueprints for your life lightly… if you have missed out on preceding opportunities, don’t miss any more. Ask God to give you a divine jump start to make up for any lost times.
Weed out wrong friendships, bad choices and improper priorities until your testimony is what Paul talked about later in Philippians 3:11,12 “So whatever it takes, I will be one who lives in the fresh newness of life of those who are alive from the dead. I don’t mean to say I am perfect. I haven’t learned all I should even yet, but I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ saved me for and wants me to be.” TLB
Stay in the game and keep being useful!
