Trust God’s Keeping Power

The battle is raging… hope looks fragile… but God’s presence is ours!

I believe the moral calamity in America and those permitting it and strengthening it seems hopeless – but I also believe that the growing breath of God’s revival fires flaring throughout our country are real. I view them not as contradictory but as counter-parts to each other. Both will be pulling in opposite directions.

No one needs to inform us of the spiritual struggle we are in. As Isaiah prophesied,

For our sins are piled up before God and testify against us. Yes, we know what sinners we are. We know we have rebelled and have denied the Lord. We have turned our backs on our God. We know how unfair and oppressive we have been, carefully planning our deceitful lies. Our courts oppose the righteous, and justice is nowhere to be found. Truth stumbles in the streets, and honesty has been outlawed. Yes, truth is gone, and anyone who renounces evil is attacked.” Isaiah 59:12-15 NLT

Isaiah hit the bullseye dead center in his prophetic view into the future. The list is nauseating.

  • Ours are hands of murder, fingers filthy with sin, lips full of lies
  • Fairness and honesty seem extinct
  • Violence is our trademark
  • Our feet run toward evil with destruction following behind
  • We know nothing about living well and holy
  • We look for justice but it evades us
  • Our sins pile up, we’re rebellious, totally ignoring God
  • We are unfair, oppressive and lie until it’s normal to our ears and hearts
  • Our courts ignore justice and celebrate evil
  • And sadly, truth stumbles in the streets and honesty has been outlawed

And many say, “We’re so bad we don’t deserve revival!” And I agree with you, but… when has revival ever come to people who are good and thereby deserve it? Isn’t this the whole thundering truth in II Chronicles 7:14 that “… if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” NLT

When our prayers have satisfied these requirements, God will act. Even as He thunders against the wicked He will show His salvation to those who honor Him:  Reading Psalm 50:21-23 should convince us that God’s judgment should terrorize those whose love evil. They are supposed to be frightened. Yet God comes to the rescue of His faithful ones even as He comes against His enemies ‘like a raging flood tide.’ Isaiah 59:16-20

His presence will bring great protection and peace to the multiplied millions of believing Christians around the world who have been calling on heaven for this time.

Our prayer… Keep me safe, Lord, out of reach from these wicked and violent men, and guard me, God, for they have plotted an evil scheme to ruin me and bring me down.” Psalm 140:4 TPT
